Our Core Support Services

At Geraldton Support, we design flexible NDIS programs tailored to each person’s goals and interests. From independent living and AAC communication to creative arts and outdoor adventures, every session focuses on building confidence, connection, and real-world skills.

Independent Living Training

From cooking lessons to managing household chores and budgeting, we build practical skills step by step. Every meal prepared, every budget balanced, and every successful social interaction is a milestone toward independence.

Community Participation

Community participation is about connection and choice. Whether it’s a bike ride along the Geraldton foreshore, a walk with your dog or our therapy dog Jessie, a scooter run, or a cuppa at your favourite café — we tailor every outing to your goals.
Our supports help you build confidence, social skills, and independence through real community experiences. Being part of your local area creates belonging, wellbeing, and pride — one small adventure at a time.

AAC Coaching

Using an AAC device can feel challenging at first, especially for reluctant users. With several years of hands-on experience working alongside speech therapists, we follow proven communication methods while adding creative, fun ways to keep each session engaging.
Working with Jessie, our AAC-trained therapy dog, adds a new and motivating twist — seeing her respond to AAC commands helps participants connect, communicate, and enjoy learning in a relaxed, supportive way.

AAC with Jessie – Our Therapy Dog in Training

Jessie, our friendly Kelpadore, is in training as a therapy dog. She is specially taught to respond to hand signals and generated AAC commands, making her an ideal partner for children who use AAC or non-verbal communication. By giving Jessie commands with gestures or an AAC device, participants see their communication come to life — boosting confidence, reducing frustration, and making learning fun.

Fishing Trips & 4×4 Adventures

At Geraldton Support, we offer supported fishing trips tailored to the participant’s needs — from a relaxed afternoon at the Geraldton marina to an adventurous day exploring off-road fishing spots in the 4×4. Our fishing and camping programs help participants: Learn practical fishing skills, from baiting hooks to safely handling fish

Build confidence through outdoor adventures. Relax in calming natural environments while connecting socially. Develop camping and outdoor living skills that encourage teamwork and independence
Every trip is designed to be safe, supportive, and enjoyable — creating memories and building independence along the way.

Safe Gaming & Online Audits

The online world can be a minefield for children and young people, especially those who are neurodivergent. We provide: Safe gaming sessions where we join your child online to observe play
Risk assessments for Roblox, Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and more. Reports for parents highlighting unsafe chats, grooming risks, or inappropriate content.
Guidance on parental controls, safer platforms, and account security.

Our goal is to help families feel confident that their children are gaming safely.

Horse Riding Support

With a background in horse training and many years of involvement with Riding for the Disabled, Chris brings a unique level of confidence and understanding around horses.
For participants who attend Riding for the Disabled or want to be involved in horse-related activities, having a support worker who is at ease in that environment makes a big difference. From assisting on the ground to supporting the participant before and after their session, this service provides both reassurance for families and encouragement for the individual.
